This will be the final post for this blog...from this web address any way! My oh so handsome and talented husband put together a website for me, and then taught me html (which sounds much harder than it actually is) so that I could maintain it myself. The posts will probably slow down a little until I get the hang of the coding, so bear with me.
We did this because we've had random people leaving comments and such that are kind of odd and it freaked Mr. You can never be to careful (aka Jared) out when he discovered how easy our blog was to find when you googled it. I, however, didn't want to go to all the trouble to make it private. So this is the middle ground I suppose. If you want the new address please email me, that way I can control who gets the new address and it's not just floating out there for anyone to see! Even if you just drop by from time to time send me an email and I'll forward you the address!

Happy surprises
I was all set to be disappointed this year because we're really tight on money, but as always my amazing husband pulled through! Let me start by saying that I am a holiday person. If there is a holiday to be celebrated I'm ready to go. I think it's a great opportunity to make family traditions and really great memories. If there is one holiday that I love more than any other it's birthday's. Not just mine, but all of them (in my family at least!) It's the day that person came to this earth and since I love them so much that day was a wonderful day for me (even if I wasn't born yet) So are you thinking I'm a total dork yet? :) Any way, Jared understands how I feel about birthday's and I'd have to say he's gotten pretty creative, but this year the way he went about doing it was just adorable.
He said he wanted to get me several things, but he couldn't decide which one would be the 'most' appreciated, and he didn't want to just give me money because he felt like it would look like he didn't care or really think about it (he was right!). So ultimately he made these

Aren't they fun? I got the dad maid one and then I had to chose one other. Ultimately I went with the Hobby Lobby one with the stipulation that I could use it at any craft store. Terribly selfish of me huh? I went right out last night and spent half of it! I have about 6 million project ideas bouncing around in my head and I just haven't had the money to make them a reality. Now I do, Hooray!
I have some cute pictures and videos of the cake he made for me too. As soon as I get the video edited I'll get them posted!

A new hobby
My Grandparents sent me some money for my birthday this year and I carefully planned out how I could use it most efficiently. I really wanted some jewelry, but everything I looked at was more than I wanted to spend. So I did what I do best... I made it! I looked at what I wanted and mentally took it apart, then I called my friend Amy who makes the most beautiful jewelry and asked for some tips (her link is in the sidebar, sparklecove jewelry), then I went shopping. The stars were aligned because all of the jewelry making stuff was 30-50% off at Joann's and the sale ended that day. I couldn't believe how much I managed to save. At any rate I wanted to post some pictures of a few of the bracelets I've made so far. I managed to use most of the beads I bought that night so this will have to do until I can go back and buy more. Let me know what you think!

Playdough Fun
My dear little Melody is the kind of child that must be entertained every second of the day. While I'm working with her on spending more time on her own, until we get to a point that she can do that I have to keep a large variety of activities on hand to keep her busy. One of my favorite standbys is play dough. I had to post these pictures because she just made me laugh. When we pulled the play dough out she tells me she's going to make me. So I said I would make her.

Bet you didn't know Mellie had such mad play dough skills!
Her...
Me.
Little Helpers
Katie is alway immitating Melody, and after watching Melody help me clear the dishwasher she decided that was her new chore as well.
EDIT: So after watching this video again I realized that I forgot to edit the ending out (lol) so please just turn it off about 10 seconds before it actually ends. Thank you. :)

Mellie-isms
Melody has a new phrase lately.
"What's that smell?"
Even when there is no smell she asks that. I always respond with, "I don't know, what do you think it smells like?" To which she always responds with some off the wall random thing. Pepper, Katie's diaper, mommy's icky food, you know...random things!
Tonight when we were leaving Wal-Mart some one was sitting right outside the door smoking, like there always is! Mellie immediately asked, "What's that smell Mommy?" Jared asked her what she thought it was. She thought about it for a minute and said, "I think it smells like poop!" We were still in hearing of the guy that was smoking and she was talking rather loudly. I love how abrupt three year olds can be, they get to say things that we as adults may feel uncomfortable saying!
