Puddle stompin' snowball fights

Let me start out by saying that I don't HATE snow. I strongly dislike snow, but I don't hate it. There are things about it that are nice. Like for instance after a big storm being the first one to leave your footprints is just cool. Then there was the time I went skiing and it was so warm we were in t-shirts and snowbibs. That was a great ski trip! However, the most prominent thought when it comes to snow is shoveling and traffic. I'm sure most of you are right there with me.

So you can see that it was not a great sacrifice for me to leave behind the white Christmas tradition in exchange for warmer Texas weather. Apparently mother nature has a great sense of hummor. I can't escape it! Last year we had the coldest winter North Texas has seen in years and then this year SNOW!! Utah is following us!!

When it started to snow the  kids thought it was amazing! When it started to stick I knew we had to take them out to play in it. Melody has played in snow before but she was too young to remember and Katelynn, even though she was born during a major snow storm, has never actually seen it! Not that she remembers anyway.

There was just enough to get a few snowballs in, but I'd have to say the biggest hit was the puddles. The sidewalks and roads in our complex are terribly uneven, thus allowing for some really great puddles to build. As the snow fell most of it melted on contact helping to create these really great puddles. Needless to say we took the kids up and put them straight into a warm bath! We were only out for about 10 minutes, but it was great fun!

Katie looks so silly in your gloves, especially when she jumps in the puddle :)
