Katie's 'scrunchie' face

Katie recently started making the funniest face! I call it her scrunchy face, or her extreme emotion face. When ever she gets mad or frustrated, or when she's happy or excited she wrinkles up her nose and scrunches her eyes and starts breathing really fast through her nose. The nose breathing, however, has been unfortunate for us this last week because she has been so congested. Whenever she does this she blows boogers all over the person unlucky enough to be holding her! This picture she was laughing at dad right after she woke up, thus the antenna like pigtails! She's definitely a morning person. It's so funny watching her lately because her personality has just exploded! Suddenly she has opinions and obvious emotions. She'll drag herself along behind you and cry at you until you help her stand up. She doesn't necessarily want to be held, she just wants to stand up and hasn't been able to do it on her own. Today she scooted over to the gate we have between the kitchen and the living room and was crying at us while we made lunch. After a minute the crying stopped so I looked over to make sure she was still alive and she had managed to climb her way up the gate so she was standing! Granted she was almost doing the splits, but she was still standing! She's such a happy little baby. She'll sit and talk her baby babble to Melody and laugh at everything she does. Unfortunately Melody likes to rough house, and to her credit she really does try to be soft, but whenever she tries to play with Katie it gets ugly. Katelynn has no patience for rough housing, or being squished, or hugged tightly, or being jumped on! Go figure! Melody has a hard time understanding that Katie doesn't like it because she enjoys it so why wouldn't Katie? Needless to say they are both their very own person. They both have very vibrant and yet very different personalities. It's so much fun having two babies!
